White Asparagus (France)

Organically grown white asparagus from Haenni family farm, Alsace region, France. 

Grown in sandy soil which is pushed by hand over the asparagus as it grows out of the ground. Hiding them from the sun keeps their white color and prevents them from turning green.

Peeled, steamed and eaten warm or at room temperature with a strong mustard vinaigrette or hollandaise sauce is the French way. Steam 6 to 7min or boil (from cold water) 20 minutes until tender.
